How do I know if my cat is overweight?
A Body Condition Score should be conducted. If ribs are not palpable due to excessive fat, no abdominal tuck is visible, and there is fat covering along the spine; these are all indicators that your cat may be overweight and seeing a Veterinarian is appropriate.
How can I help my cat lose weight?
Reduction in a diet may be indicated, switching to a weight loss diet, reducing the number of treats and table scraps are good ways in helping your kitty lose weight. Increase activity level by encouraging play or foraging for food.
What is offered during a nutritional consultation?
Complimentary diet consultations include weigh-ins, diet recommendation, calculations for caloric intake as well as ongoing support during the weight loss program.
