What are some types of parasites found in cats?

Cats can be infected with intestinal parasites such as tapeworm, hookworm, roundworm or whipworm, fleas, ear mites, or protozoa such as Tritrichomonas or Giardia.

If my cat has worms, what symptoms should I look for?

Your cat may experience diarrhea, scooting, or bloody stool.

Are worms dangerous to humans?

Yes, many types of worms are zoonotic and can cause severe problems for humans. Roundworms can cause visceral or ocular migrans, and hookworms can cause cutaneous migrans.

What is the deworming schedule?

Deworming is recommended every 30 days if your cat is a hunter or outdoors. Indoor cats as recommend by your veterinarian.

Are there any side effects from deworming medication?

As with any medication for pets or humans, vomiting and/or diarrhea may occur.
