I graduated from the GPRC Animal Health Technology program in 2019 and went to do my practicum at Animal Medical Centre North where they hired me on right away. I had the amazing opportunity to work at that clinic for just over two years before transferring to Alouette Animal Hospital in British Columbia this past July. At both clinics I’ve been able to grow in ways I couldn’t even imagine! The biggest improvement I’ve seen with myself has been being more confident in my anesthetic monitoring abilities as well as conquering my telephone anxiety. I haven’t yet found my niche/speciality that I want to pursue but I’m hoping that will change soon. For right now I will continue to be the kooky tech that gives tarot card readings to her coworkers on lunch break. I am excited for what the future holds and for all the other animals I get to help in the coming years as an RVT.
